Hi HiJAK!ers. Oh yes, you know it, I've gone and got you some lovely winter treats!

First up is a couple of mixes from uber talented DJ / Percussionist / Multi-talented Musician Chris Watkins-Pitchford. Hailing from West Kent and now residing in Brighton, DJ NancyBoy has an incredible knowledge of funk, soul, afro, swing and salsa. His party loving attitude and experience of playing seemingly never ending house parties leads to the exciting structure of his mixes. Adding to his DJing abilities Chris is part of the amazing percussion group Carnival Collective who regularly smash out the sounds at festivals, street parties and clubs. He is part of a new group the Kalakuta Millionaires who are an 18-piece AfroFunk Latino outfit fusing tunes from the heart of 70s Nigeria to the carnivals of Cuba, the back streets of Brazil and beyond with blistering brass, stunning harmonies and an explosive rhythm section.

Get your ears around his ‘House Party’ mix and get a great example of what you can expect from one of DJ NancyBoy’s cheese-sprinkled party sets. Featuring The Quantic Soul Orchestra, The Jungle Brothers, Mo’Horizons, Daft Punk and Eminem.

For a more foot-tapping jive-vibe try his ‘Swingers’ mix, with my highlights being Louis Jordan with the smiley ‘Caldonia Boogie,’ Nina Simone’s ‘Mood Indigo,’ and Louis Armstrong’s ‘When The Saints Go Marching In.’

Secondly is a mix from DJ Jose Diaz an experienced Selector who has had residencies both here and on the other side of the planet, sharing the decks with an impressive line-up. His ‘Crank Funk’ mix really does it for me taking in Wawa & Herd Ft. A Wilson ‘The Right Way’ (Chriss Ortega Mix), Andy Caldwell ft Gram’ma Funk ‘Funky Nasty’ (Wolfgang Gartner Mix) and H2O feat. Platnum ‘What's It Gonna Be’ (Thomas Gold Remix.) Expect massive vocal-stompers, booty-wobblers and trouser-shakers from this party-popping mix.
